Giving attention to those who choose to work within the techniques and conventions of genre writing, creative nonfiction, and poetry, Analekta is proud to introduce its fifth volume. It contents range from retro to futuristic, horrific to fantastical, lyrical to comical and everything in between.

Volume 5 also recognizes an Oregon writer who exemplifies persistence in developing writing skills and leveraging them into a growing body of work. Volume 5 features Susan DeFreitas, author of the acclaimed novel, Hot Season.

Launched in 2012, Analekta was created as a portal for Oregon writers. Encompassing creative memior, fiction and poetry, a wander through pages of will lead readers from gritty urban scenes to other worlds. While some of the writers featured dwell within Portland's literary scene, the talents of many other shines out of the tiny nooks and towns that dot the Willamette Valley.
